(✪㉨✪)/ - Lifting Diary

Gaining 10lbs

So today (3.5.15) i reached a milestone that I thought was impossible. Gaining weight (10lbs) while having above average metabolism and being active everyday!

Last year I set out on a goal, to realize my physical potential. I wanted to excel in sports whether it be endurance, strength and speed. I want to be healthy and live a long life. I want to be able to protect my family and myself whenever an emergency situation occurs. I want to be able to stand up for myself and for my friends and family. Another thing is that I want to feel good, I want those endorphins to take over and make me happy. I'm an introvert everyone knows that but in reality I'm a sore loser, I'm a competitor, I hate losing and I love winning or at the least giving my best. I'm already 23 (turning 24 in a few months) so "prime age" window is already begun.

Last years experiment. Last year I tried to hit weights for the first time in my life. I used to believe in body weight training in that it is more natural and will give the leaner look. That maybe true but it'll be years to achieve anything through bodyweight training plus you had to spend a lot of time each day (less weight more reps!) just to get the right amount of work to produce results. Around July I purchased some weights with my friend, and I began on simple dumbbell workouts. I did this while being active on playing basketball (playing at least once a week). It was hell balancing my work and working out while living with two guys in a small room!

Around September - Noticing that simple bicep curls and push ups won't work I started to create my own version of splits. a 3 days split. Monday - Arms(Biceps and Triceps), Wed - Chest/back, Friday - Arms again. Throwing in Ab days between those splits. Now as you can see this is the typicaly newbie split. Aiming for the only body parts you care about and giving up on the rest (Arms, Chest and Abs)! I did this up to the end of the year!!

Here's the newbie split btw , 3 sets, 12 reps each. Abs 2 sets, a minute each.

ARMS - Mon and Fri
Bicep Curl
Reverse Curl
Hammer Curl
Tricep Swing
Back of the Head Raise

CHEST/BACK - Wed
Bent Row
One arm Row
One arm Bench Press
One arm Fly
Two Hand Pull Over

ABS - Tue and Thurs
Standing Knee Raises
Laying Down Knee Alt Touch
Body Curl and Lift
Side to Side fist
Side Leg Curls

One thing that came good last year though is my experience with running. I started to join half marathons around October. One thing I'm proud of is that even without any experience in running that much I didn't start with 5k, not 10k not 15k but instead 21k!. and then a 25k a week after that and another 21k a week after the last one. 3 half marathons in a span of 30 days and I completed them without walking like an idiot. (my run-time is average though at that time). This helped my body tremendously on building stamina and endurance. Which help me with my weight training. But more importantly besides the physical benefits of running I gained a ton of will power. Its the mental aspect which will benefit the most in this long enduring runs. It's building that NO QUIT attitude. It easily translated on weight training, where I pretend each rep is just like a run, there are times in a half marathon where I would already want to quit just halfway through but I DID NOT. And I always think about that when I'm at my limit when lifting, it gives me that push that I need to finish that extra squeeze I need.

Today I run atleast once every sunday (minimum 3 miles, non stop, and a 150m sprint to end it which is a relatively easy-to-moderate run for me, enough to raise my cardio but also enough not to burn muscles) to supplement my lifting with cardio. Added to that is calisthenics which I do atleast twice a week.

So with all that wasted weight training (though I admit I did build up my body a bit even with that nooby split >.<) and very productive running I found myself at the end of the year more muscular (not much) but still weigh 135 lbs. The same weight I started with.

Year 2015. This year I revamped my strategy, I learned that if you wanted to grow and lose more fat you had to train your whole body. Because if you train specific body parts, the other parts only get weaker because you will only rely on the stronger parts. It will create an unbalance in your body. With fat you also had to train your whole body and not just your abs. Think of fat as a single entity in your body, the bigger your arms, forearms, legs etc are the more they will be distributed throughout your body, the less fat you'll have in your stomach. PLus the more msucle you have the more calories you burn, the more you can eat YEY!!

I picked this great workout 4 straight day split from DoTheRobot in bodybuilding.com. It utilizes single dumbbell weight exercises. This time I got the whole body covered! Mon to Wed (Friday to Sunday are Rest or Cardio days)

The present Split: weight increases each month

So now that I have a proper split. The next step is to monitor my macros or atleast my calorie and protein intake. And thanks to myfitness app I am able to monitor it the whole year.

My calorie requirement is about 2500-3000 calories per day. And about 127 (but i try to stay above 150 per day) of protein. By tracking this my already huge appetite just became more out of control, I eat and eat and eat and eat (good thing I'm not getting fat). That is because I'm always active almost 5-6 days a week. Plus I eat smart, I don't eat fatty or sugary foods. (tip in eating healthy is to start as early as possible, you will get used to the taste of less sugar and less salt and you won't have those cravings for junk after some time) I eat multiple times a day (distribution makes your body work constantly towards digesting that food making your metabolism rise and you gain less fat compared to eating whole big meals 3 times a day.)

Aside from the proper split, and food monitoring I continued the cardio but this time on shorter distances. Long distance runs will burn your muscles so you must keep your run around 30 mins or less. I personally do 45 min jogs and that Is okay as long as you consume before hand a ton amount of calories and protein.

With all that said, How much did I gain? Not really much. I started around mid year at 135 lb ended the year at 135 lbs. Now at the 3rd month of the year I'm about 148-149lbs. I gained about 14 lbs in 2 months compared to NONE in half a year last year. The good thing is that I don't look fatter and actually have lesser fat in stomach when I pinch it. Just means that I gained some muscles in other body parts ^_ ^

Here are my Current Measurements:

3/5/2015Grecian Ideal
Weight149lb
Wrist16cm
Chest94cm104cm
Waist82cm73cm
Hip93cm88cm
Bicep33cm37cm
Forearm27.5cm30cm
Thighs56.5cm55cm
Calve40cm35cm
neck37.5cm38cm

Need to work more for that Grecian Ideal but getting near there though. One thing I noticed is that I already had big thighs and cavles which probably was the result of tons of running and basketball throughout the years.

Update:
Recently, when I got no running scheduled or basketball games I find it boring inside the house. Not exactly boring because I can go out or do other stuff like learn Japanese, Watch doramas but my body is just active that it constantly needs to move. I got into Calisthenics. My ultimate aim is to be able to do a Walking Hand Stand. Every Sunday I spend an hour doing handstands and Crow Stand (Yoga Pose called Bakasana which is the basis of all hand stand poses). I need to strengthen my core and my balance to achieve such feats. It is very fun and rewarding by the way, first times I tried doing the crow pose I couldn't even hold the position for 4 seconds, Now I'm reaching up to a minute and My goal is to keep it up until I can do it for 20-30 minutes with straight arms. Same with Hand stand, I need to get used to being upside down and develop the core strength and Body balance and coordination to be able to do a clean handstand pose and then then free hand stand and then hopefully move to the walking hand stand.

I added Wrist Day for either Saturday and Sunday to address my problems in dealing heavier weights and also doing calisthenics. The wrist never gets big but you can strengthen it because this could become your weak link in dealing with heavier weights. It doesn't matter how strong you are if your wrist hurts while carrying those weights you won't last and won't be able to push your muscles to their limit.

The Wrist Day is composed of: Close Open, Finger Close Open (2 sets 30 sec each), Wrist Hammer Curl, Wrist Curl, Wrist Reverse Curl, Finger Curl (3 Sets, 20 sec each).

So from all these experiences what Lessons did I learned?

Train your whole body, every single muscle counts.
Food is as important as training.
Don't neglect cardio, Cardio is health!
Don't quit.

Got deadlines? so what. Got errands? So what. Your hand is full of blisters and blood? So what.  You got an upcoming. Run? So what? You fell depressed, sad, frustrated? So What. Do what you have to do then work out, no excuses!

I'm not saying to neglect those other things, in fact you have to do those things, it's part of disciplining yourself. Neglecting your work or your family reflects on your work ethic towards training. A real man prioritize things and can balance these things out. You just had to sacrifice those time you sit your butt browsing the net, watching tv, talking to people, going outside for meaningless spending. If you truly want your dreams to come true you work for them day in and day out!

I am now sitting on near 150 lbs but my goal is to reach 155-160 by May and then I'll cut! Cut to remove all the extra fat and see what I have gained. I'm still new at this but

Heavier But Leaner has allowed me to be more aggressive on the track, on the court and on my lifestyle!

Thanks for reading my random rant (But I do hope nobody reads this because this is stupid XD.) It only has been months of proper training (Years of unproper diet and self weight training). I believe  that I am in just about 20% of my Goal Physique and health. Looking forward to see the gains I would get by maintaining good training and nutrition throughout the whole year of 2015!

Next time I'll post all the fun experiences I had in each running events I joined in. More anime and Kanji stuff too. ありがとう 皆さん!

(✪㉨✪)/ Basic Introduction to Kanjis (漢字)! (日本語 Lessons 2).

I hoped that you studied "Katakana" and "Hiragana" so you can at least read some Japanese! If not then read my first 日本語 lesson post HERE ^_^. Open up some Katakana or Hiragana chart/app and use some Dictionary like jisho.org or download an app like JED for better understanding of the lesson.

Today I will show some basic information about Kanjis!! (Reading and Writing included)
Just Basic though because Kanji is something you can't learn in the net, you have to work for it with books and other stuff!

Japanese or Nihongo日本語) is tough because of "Kanjis"漢字)because Unlike other languages where words are formed by combining basic alphabet letters (in the case of 日本語 being the Katakana and Hiragana), they instead use Kanjis or specific Chinese characters for each word (As if two alphabet systems aren't enough!). There are literally thousands (more than 5000) of Kanji's but luckily you only need to learn 1000-2000 basic Kanjis (Okay maybe not so lucky!) to become quite comfortable in Japanese. I'm guessing the Chinese and Japanese wanted to use Chinese characters so they could laugh their butts off at Foreign people or Gaijin外人)who try to learn their language. How mean of them! >_< I myself is still in the progress of learning these Kanjis and my peak was around 500 characters, now I am getting a bit rusty but I don't plan on giving up! These is where most learners give up because it will take you some years to learn. But if you genuinely enjoy Japanese culture and is always exposed to Japanese then you'll have fun learning along the way and won't ever feel the need to quit!

How Kanjis Work:

Kanjis are the building blocks of Words. For example here we have the Kanji's of:

KanjiDefinitionOn Reading(s)Kun Reading(s)
I, meわたし、わたくし
Sunジツ、ニチーび、ひ、-か
Origin, Sourceホンもと
Languageかたらう、かたる
Outside, foreignガイ、ゲそと、はずれる、とー、はか、はずさ
Personジン、ニンーり、-と、ひと

Each Kanji has multiple readings

The On-yomi (On for short) readings are, as you can see, written in Katakana, they are the original chinese readings.

The Kun-yomi is the japanese reading.

Here are the vocabulary words you can form with the given Kanjis: (They are all Nouns btw)

  - read as ニチ. Meaning is "Day"
  - read as . Meaning is "Sun"
(As you can see different words can have the same kanji character but they are usually connected somehow so don't fret, the reading or speaking dictates the meaning)

  - read as ひと. Meaning is "Person"
(Those are some samples of single Kanji words! Here are combinations now)

  - read as にほ. Meaning JAPAN!
  - read as にほんご. Meaning "Japanese language"

  ( (Sun), ほん (Origin),  Language)

(Here you see multiple Kanjis in one word. Now you know the origin of "LAND OF THE RISING SUN". Advantage of studying Kanjis is that you can actually guess words based on the characters. ^_^ Not all though)

- read as にほんじん. Meaning Japanese person.
- read as ガイじん. Meaning Foreign person.

じん Person Suffix.

(Here you can see that the suffix or combining form reading of  is じん. But if used alone  is read as ひと as mentioned above. Both mean the same, "Person")

Now that is for Reading (for the mean time use Dictionaries! and Start from your favorite words and you will slowly expand that ^_^)

FOR WRITING!!!

Okay, you don't just write or draw Kanjis into those weird shapes like a kid, You write them with grace, in correct order and stroke like the Chinese characters they are;

As we know there are about 5000 Kanjis out there (1000-2000 basic ones). How can you memorize everything? Well a useful info is that these Kanjis are made up of smaller characters called Radicals (Chinese Kangxi Radicals), So If Kanjis are the building blocks of words, then these Radicals are the building blocks of Kanjis. There are about 214 of these Radicals as shown below (thanks tofugu for the cheat-sheet!)

They make it easier to remember the Kanjis because you'll have to see the same drawings or radicals over and over again, just different combinations. That means you'll have to write with the same stroke orders again and again. Again I emphasize on continuous practice otherwise you can keep dreaming about learning to write and read Japanese in your sleep!

But if you want to guess some Kanji strokes without memorizing the Radicals then I'll give you some hints that could be useful:

So this is the Origin or 本 Kanji! It is by itself a single Radical.

My Rules:
1. Start with the line or radical at the most left side first, and at upper most top.
(In this case the horizontal is at left most part and vertical at upper most part, so which one?)
2. Horizontal Lines First Before Vertical! (Stroke for horizontal lines is always left to right!)
2. Then next is the Vertical Line (Stroke for vertical lines is always from top to bottom!)
3. Then at the middle you will meet two inclined Lines. This non horizontal and vertical lines almost always go outwards (From kanji center) with their stroke.
4. As you go down you will meet another horizontal line which is the last one. And your'e DONE!

Here is the stroking order of the 日 Character. The 日 itself is a single radical btw

For boxes Rules:
1. Construct the Left Wall
2. Then Roof and Right Wall
3. Construct whatever Radicals or Kanji is inside using rules above:
4. Then Close the box.

Another Example:

This is the Kanji for annoyed or distressed 困. Composed of Radicals ロand 木. Same rule as above.

Last Example:

Now the 語 Character contains a lot of Radicals Parts: 一口五言.

Steps:
1. Okay always start with radicals at Upper Left side first (go up to down). Then move to right side (Up to down.)
2. 1 to 4 are a bunch of horizontal Lines starting from Upper left going down. (Again left to right stroke)
3. 5, 6 and 7 is your basic box.
4. At the right parts, at the upper most we have 8 as a horizontal line.
5. Then a straight vertical Line for 9.
6. 10 is an upside down L stroke which is like the roof and side of a box. If you see upside down L shapes then feel free to draw them in one upside down L stroke.
7. As we go down we encounter another horizontal Line.
8. We finish the Kanji with a simple box. DONE!!! ^_^

Just like in reading you need constant practice! Try using apps like "Obenkyo" for android, they will give you quizzes where you'll have to draw the kanji! And it is 2015, almost all dictionary apps on the net have the stroke order, all the readings and parts (Even the vocabulary words for those Kanjis). Repetition in writing is one of the best methods in memorizing! Write Everday!! :).

And so that's it. For memorizing Kanjis you just need to expose yourself to lots of Japanese, read from basic sentences, start from Katakana and Hiragana then proceed to Kanjis with the help of Apps, Books, Tools etc. Make it FUN otherwise you'll regret it! For writing, you just need some continuous practice with some Kanjis (I'd say about 100 or 200) then you'll be able to guess how to write the rest because the rules are about the same for almost every Kanji.

A basic tip is that instead of memorizing Kanji's individually it is easier if you memorize the Vocabulary words that you encounter and from there keep notes on the Kanji parts in there and their readings (and writings if you want) because most of the time they'll have the same readings when put on other words (for suffix and prefixes forms). After you finish Katakana and Hiragan, proceed to Grammar and from there as you build your grammar you are also gonna build your Kanji and Vocabularies too! Goodluck to us Minna! Daidaiiro Out! (✪㉨✪)/

(✪㉨✪)/ Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters All Seasons (AR)

Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters
Episodes: 224
Aired Date: April 18, 2000 - September 29, 2004

Yu-Gi-Oh is an anime that is based on a very popular Trading Card Game of the same name. It was one of my favorite shows during high-school. I had no background in playing any trading card games at the time but I would see this show every evening after school. What caught my eye was the cool monsters and cards. Tried watching a few and from there I got hooked. I started to learn the rules when I religiously followed the show and they made it fairly easy to understand too. They really did a good job at advertising it towards kids who didn't play card games. Eventually everyone at my age (at least in my school) knew about Yu-Gi-Oh and the nerds and geeks which is my circle of friends started to play the actual game! We would hang out in one of our friends houses, brag about our decks and Duel the crap of each other! (Duel is the term for the card battle). I still have my card albums and card collections back home too lol. The game is pretty easy to play, you basically just have to manipulate three types of cards:(Skip below for actual Review!!)

Left to Right: Monster, Magic and Trap Card.

1. Monster Cards - The heroes, monsters, creatures etc. These are the primary cards that you lay on the Field (The Field is the battle ground) to duke it out against each other. They possess attack and defense points. Attack points for attacking another monster or the LP of the opponent and Defense points for defending themselves and the LP. (LP or Lifepoints is the life of the duelist, LP = 0 means your defeated or in cases in the anime "DEAD"). (Typical Color is Brown)

2.Magic/Spell Cards - This cards are like items, equipments etc. They need not to be laid on the Field because you can use them right off your hand. These cards make the game more complicated and fun. They can strengthen your monsters, weaken the opponent, heal you and other crazier more complicated effects that gives each duel endless scenarios. Together with trap cards they give life to the card game. (Colored Green)

3. Trap Cards - Trap cards are just like Magic and Spell Cards but you have to lay them and set them on the field like setting a trap. They are activated only when the opponent attacks you or does whatever trigger is stated in the card. (Colored Pink)

I could write a bunch of whole new posts just to explain the rules so I'll stop here and continue with the Anime Review! Sorry for sidetracking!

THE REAL ANIME REVIEW!!!!:

A brief background explanation:
The Millennium Puzzle is one of the 7 Millennium Items
Set in a world where everyone is addicted to Yu-Gi-Oh (just like in any game turned anime shows) Yu-Gi-Oh is a story about a young timid boy named Yugi Muto. He likes to do puzzles and of course playing the duel card game. One day he completes the Millennium Puzzle (A pyramid shaped 3-D jigsaw puzzle given by his Dad) which then releases the spirit of  Yami Yugi who partly possessed his body. Together with their friends they battle weirdo's and creepos (with stylish hairs) to regain the pharaoh's lost memories and achieve victories in the duel card game. The plot is easy to understand as expected of an anime adaptation of a game. But unlike the typical shows of the same genre (which are mostly for kids) this show is quite more for the teenagers too maybe because of the complicated card rules and a bit mature plot which makes it far from boring unlike those other shows. The show in short is easy to swallow and very entertaining to watch even if full of anime cliches.

CHARACTERS:

Yugi Muto is the half of our MC. He's portrayed as a shy and small boy who always get's bullied.  He loves puzzles and all kinds of games. Sounds like a normal boy right? What's odd is he has this weird hair going on with those golden pointy razor sharp bangs and the spiky red hair (looks like a visual kei - super saiyan crossover hair). And did I mention those eye liners and leather belts he wears on his neck and wrists? Don't judge a book by a cover I guess, He's probably in teenage rebellion stage lol. He maybe weak but he possesses the biggest heart in the show (which doesn't really amount anything and he always ends up being rescued by Yami Yugi.I know life is unfair *sob).  (Favorite Card is Dark Magician, sorry Kuribo.)

Yeah scratch that head Kawaii Yugi otherwise I'll do it for you <3
Yami Yugi is the other half. He is the opposite of Muto. He has a more darker and more charismatic personality. He is a spirit of a pharaoh named Atem. After being released from the Millennium puzzle he resides (or freeloads) on Muto's body. Yami Yugi looks exactly the same as Muto. The only difference is that those rounded eyes, chin and other body parts of Muto becomes sharp, pointy and meaner looking when becoming Yami Yugi plus he is taller too. What's weird is that Pharaoh Atem already dons that visual kei hair during ancient times! Must have been a real hipster during his reign! He can talk with muto and can take over the body whenever he wants to.
Atem getting ready for his concert!!
Seto Kaiba is the rival and friend of Yugi. He is super rich and is a natural born genius. He's the CEO of his own company called KaibaCorp. KaibaCorp focuses on technological innovations for the card game and other games alike. But don't be fooled by his rich looks (he always wear coats and that douchey hair). He's a maniac in terms of the card game, he's so addicted specially on beating Yugi that he'd do anything for it. He has all the money and brains so we wonder why the hell did he settle for the dream of beating Yugi in a card game! But even though he is a prick he's a good guy and a good older brother towards Mokuba Kaiba. (Favorite card is the Blue Eyes White Dragon)

What a creep! And I thought this show was for kids!
Joey Wheeler (Katsuya Junouchi in the manga) is probably Yugi's closest and best friend. He and Tristan first bullied Yugi but eventually became friends when Yugi showed bravery and courage. He started out as a comic relief but improved in leaps and bounds throughout the show, He has the most character growth out of them all and that makes him my favorite character in the show. Besides being friendly and extremely loyal to his friends he is also a good older brother towards his sister Serenity Wheeler. He also possesses the infamous creepy chin which just shows that he can't keep a poker face when he gets good cards >.<. Despite being one of the ugliest in the show with that creepy chin he's still the one who gets the hot blonde chick (Mai Valentine). Lucky Guy! (Favorite Card is Red Eyes Black Dragon)

Chicks sure dig that chin!

Ryo Bakura started out as an antagonist but eventually joins the group too. Like Yugi, Bakura possesses a millennium item called Millennum Ring. And also like Yugi he can also be possessed by Yami Bakura, but this Yami Bakura is evil compared to Yami Yugi and possesses Bakura without his consent.

Almost forgot about this guy

Tea Gardner (Anzu Mazaki), Tristan Taylor (Hiroto Honda) and Grandpa! - These here are your extra characters, they are really part of the group and consistently being shown on shows (either spectating, cheering or being kidnapped or something) but one doesn't play the card game, one played a one or two non competitive ones and the other is too old for the game (grandpa even injured himself playing a card game!). Tea Gardner is Yugi Muto's childhood friend and is obviously his leading partner in the show. Tea is quite lucky with Yugi because she can also get Yami as a packaged deal, leaving her with options if she ever gets bored with one lol. JK! Tristan Taylor was Joey's bestfriend before they ever get to know Muto. He does the dirty work in the show, occasionally providing those brawn and muscle since he has really no other use outside of that. Grandpa is the one who taught Muto how to play the card game. He's such a cool grandpa because he owns a card shop. Plus he's the real reason why Muto rocks those awesome hair! Eventually more guys and gals join the group but here are the original ones who lasted throughout the whole series. ^_^

Left to Right: Tea Gardner, the almighty Grandpa, Tristan Taylor

Left to Right: Kaiba's bro, Joey's sweetheart, Joey's Sister.

ART and MUSIC:

The character art is not really realistic with all the sharp eyes and outrageous hair but it looks good. The colors are sometimes dark but its part of the feel I guess. It has this unique visual kei kinda taste which is for me makes it kinda good and memorable. The monsters are well detailed and the visual effects on the card game are smoothly done. Animation is okay and consistent (Except for some later episodes but that is understandable since it lasts for 224 episodes.) The OP's and ED's rock! From rock songs to relaxing ballads. You can see the list below and I suggest you listen to them. The background music may get repetitive but what do you expect in this kind of anime where it really just centers around the Duel Game.

Awesome Monsters! Epic Battles! and Hot Chicks! What more can you ask for!! *Nerdgasm

PLOT and VERDICT:

The plot contains a lot of cliches but fret not because they are entertaining and easy to watch. There are times that the plot kinda deepens but you realize it's just a card game so it's light and again easy to swallow. Lots of comedy from the gang and  lots of suspense and action during those great card battles! Besides the good character cast, plenty of cool villains too and great side stories. Honestly the main driving force of this show is of course the card battles. It's gonna be the one thing that viewers will want to watch. Good thing about this is that it doesn't get repetitive because essentially there is growth in each battle. More important than the character growth is the growth in their decks. Each battle becomes more and more complicated compared to the last one as new tricks and cards are constantly introduced. Plus we get constantly fed by new rules, type of game, equipment and cards  throughout the 224 episode show so it never gets boring as it always gives us something fresh. From the plain card game, to doubles, team battles, dungeon card game, cool card combinations, ancient rare cards, inhuman villains there are lot of things to keep you glued to the screen! Don't expect anything more though because from the genre this anime belongs to, it really limits it's potential in the plot department. But don't worry because it does the genre justice as it efficiently it mixes the already great card game into a world of cool and awesome characters. The card game is as fun to watch as it is to play it. I couldn't say anything more for this show, if you are interested in strategy games (specially card games) then go ahead and watch this!

My Personal Rating: 7/10

☻☻☻☻☻☻

OP:

  1. Voice - Cloud
  2. Shuffle - Masami Okui
  3. WILD DRIVE - Masato Nagai
  4. Warriors - Yuuichi Ikusawa
  5. Overlap - Kimeru
ED:
  1. Genki no Shower - Aki Maeda
  2. Ano hi no Gogo - Masami Okui
  3. Rakuen - CAVE
  4. Afureru Kanjou ga Tomaranai - Yuuichi Ikusawa
  5. EYES - Yuuichi Ikusawa

Valentines is nearing so as thanks for reading my review I give you a pick up Line! (This does not belong to me so don't blame me for whatever happens to you!). Have a safe valentines!:

(✪㉨✪)/ - Rant of a 23 year old Living Independently and Alone. とても寂しい。

If only I could be a hikikomori too and meet a nice girl XD

Normally I'm used to living alone but today I feel like venting things out since I have nobody to talk to and I need to release this from time to time (▰˘︹˘▰)Just a little background of me, I grew up in a small family where technically the youngest even though I have a twin sister (I consider her my older sister because she was born an hour ahead of me..). We were both taken good care of by our mother who is a reaaaal workaholic, we never had to do any household chores because she wanted to do it by herself (Or she just doesn't trust us). When she's not there my two older half brothers would pamper us too. So me and sis never really learned how to be independent and do chores...  Past forward today.. I'm 23 and I'm finally living the opposite of the life I grew up with. >.< I used to believe that freedom and being independent is the ultimate goal of young adults like me, I thought it would be fun! Boy.. I guess it's fun (I'm kinda enjoying it lately) but it takes a lot of hard-work!! a lot of stress!! a lot of sadness!!.. I'm eventually gonna be living with my twin sis again in march at either at a new condo or our partly owned house which is about an hour drive from here..for now I'm stuck (-_-) I'm gonna list the things that really makes it hard living alone:

1.) Money - yeah, I'm fully independent right now, everything i drink, eat, consume, use, I pay frickin all of it. For every purchase I make I needed to compute! I need money for my meat! my whey! my meds! my rent! water and electricity! clothes! buffets and runs (LOL)! and travel! The bad thing about this is just it's sometimes stressful because you want to rush on to being rich but you just can't.. but yeah.. I guess what this really teaches me is how to be responsible with money. How to value money, how to live with moderation. Just like what my dad told me, he's preparing me before I handle those big stuff back at home, I just wish it happens ASAP but it's okay if it didn't because I want to establish a name for myself in my career right now and I need some time before I go back home, I need to realize my own potential and everything I'll get from dad, grandpa, two uncles ,(sole inheritor they say -_-") they'll just be bonuses for I'll  want carve up my own path...

I wish I had moe problems

2.) Time - time for me is more problem than money. I wish days would be twice as long! I mean I go to work 7am get back home at 6:30pm. Then I'd either went straight home or spend 30mins doing grocery (food won't magically replenish themselves inside my fridge ( >д<)). Then at home, I would cook my meal for dinner, tomorrow's breakfast and my hiro-bento for work. I'd rest for an hour and proceed to heavy workouts after laying! (4-5 times a week). It approximately starts at 7:30 ends at 8:30 to 9pm. At thursdays i'd squeeze a run too 8:30pm to 9:30pm (30mins run, 30mins relaxation at my alma mater!) that leaves me about less than 2 hours to eat dinner, do hygiene stuff. Around 11:30 i'd lie in bed and try as hard as I can to study Japanese (日本語!)Good thing I have a lot of japanese and foreign chat mates now at LINE and LANG-8 so it gets a little bit easier and less time consuming to learn.. but I admit I miss a lot of japanese learning time because of time constrictions.. bah, I try to study them during lunch at work instead! Also need time to study for my craft at civil engineering too! Weekends are either laundry or running.. but with more time I can either go out with friends or my sister, or stay home and watch anime, J-dramas or read manga (the former is money consuming, the latter is again being lonely and sad) ^_^.

I swear one of these days I'll try doing this cliche

3.)Eating/Cooking - Being alone I can't cook good meals because again... not enough TIME!! My food is basically chicken breast, chicken breast, whey, banana, rice, chicken breast, oats, chicken breast, eggs and more chicken breast. What's wrong with chicken breast? I just frickin boil them in masses to save a lot of electricity! And boiling chicken breasts means = RUBBER. Plain, no taste, like eating rubber! I bought a lot of condiments, from kikkoman, teriyaki sauces, tobasco chili, japanese mayo etc just to make it EDIBLE!. I have really no choice because I'd rather eat chicken breast than eat canned goods or other meat. Another problem with lots of chicken breast is again MONEY!! but its okay..What I've learned this past year is that I'd rather be broke, and not enjoy my food than to eat crap, non-nutritious food. I'll go veggies and BREASTS (chicken lol) all the way! I just wished that I have normal metabolism because I'm frickin eating for 2 people (more than 3000 calories maintenance) and for my size 5'6" 350lb that's quite big. Another sad thing about eating alone is that (I just noticed it earlier) praying alone made me pity myself. I pray out-loud alone.. and when I heard myself earlier it hit me like a truck that, crap, this is just like some drama scene, I'm here talking loudly praying for people on an island far away from me >_< bah! Oh well hahaha,I know HE is with me so dun care!

4.)Waking up - okay, waking up as long as i have an alarm clock is pretty easy. No alarm clock then I wouldn't wake up at all lol..  but generally waking every morning for me is a just okay.. except for cooking early in the morning, time consuming! Besides that it's easy. What's hard is when you wake up at the middle of the night or early morning from a freaking bad dream, you wake up in the dark, sad, or frightened, noone to talk to. This is a real eye opener for me, But it teaches you to be harder.. tougher.. emotionless in some degree. In short it makes you stronger. I don't want to be alone for long periods of time though but if I had to then so be it, I can do it for months!

Basically those 4 are the real problems for me in living alone and independent. One good advice is to make a consistent schedule which I did and religiously followed for months now. Every activity as scheduled. I know that almost everyone (few lucky ones won't) will experience this at any point in their lives, it could be as early as teenager days, early 20s, late 20s but by 30s and above they NEED to experience this and I'm sure they WILL. They need to learn how to be alone in order to appreciate the company of their FAMILY and FRIENDS. They need to be able to stand by their own two feet in order to support the ones they love without worrying about being supported back. I know this is just a big challenge for me but I'm embracing it. I'm loving every single day of this life (while also hating it sometimes), I know that the harder it gets, the more painful it is, the more victorious I would feel once I get this all behind me. When you are at the bottom there is no other way but to GO UP! So fellow loners out there (lol) hang in there! We can do this !(=^▽^=) がんばって皆! (venting done! Felt goooood ⊂(◉‿◉)つ... さよなら!) お休み!_(-ω-`_)

(✪㉨✪)/ - こんばんわ みな! (Random Thoughts)

こんばんわ みな!
(Konbanwa Mina!)
(Good Evening Everyone!)

This is my second post on my "Random thoughts" category, which will probably where I will vent out or write about stuff that I only care about. So we now have Anime Reviews, Fan Arts, 日本語 Lessons and lastly the Random thoughts (better ignore the last category since it's full of uninteresting crap :-P)

So it's 2:30am now and I just finished doing laundry.

(あつい!!atsui!!)
Yeah that's me resting after doing some laundry (It's tough living alone >.<). Well now that I'm done with laundry I'll be able to watch some shows (Weekends are my Off Days from lifting,  woohoo!!).

Earlier today, After work, I went to the mall in the hopes to find some formal wear for the upcoming party in my work. But instead of trying out clothes, it became yet again another food fest. (Every single weekend -_- )

(eating buffet while constipated.. ugh)

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be avaible to buy those clothes with the help of my 双子の姉 (Futago No Ane, Twin Sister!) who I bribed with buying her clothes if she helps me (I needed some second opinions on color matching). Hopefully I can succeed on tomorrows quest and avoid looking like a yakuza on a suit at the party.

After the buffet, I went home, and slept! and wasn't able to go to a good friend's birthday party T^T. Woke up at 8pm, did a bit of yoga, colon massage and drank coconut water to fix my constipation (It worked! I'm an expert in this since I always get constipated lol). I skipped dinner and that resulted in me getting hungry at midnight while doing the laundry. I saw some cabbages in the fridge (the only thing edible in there) and proceeded to eat it like a goat while watching anime, at 2am, It was a weird experience lol.

(I guess veggies could help me in my constipation)
Well those are my random thoughts for the day, it's 3am already and I'm sleepy! お休み!(Oyasumi!)

(✪㉨✪)/ - お久しぶりです!! I'm back! (Random Thoughts)

久しぶり みんな。^_^ Daidaiiro desu, It's been a long time.

I guess I won't be quitting this site (although it has no fans) I'll keep this as an online diary to keep me pushing for my dreams!

It's been 5-6 months already and I have been so busy with work, running, lifting and japanese study.
Yes, my everyday life has turned into work, go home, drink protein shake, 1 hour rest, lift/cardio, study 日本語, then watch anime or japanese drama! ^_^.

Japanese Corner!!:
日本語
(ni hon go, 日 = sun, 本 = origin, 語 = language, origin of the sun language lol)

日本
(ni hon = japan)

日本人
 (ni hon jin, 日 = sun, 本 = origin,  = person, Japanese)

Look at that, I've been to several half marathons, started to play new sports and been lifting like a mad man. That's because at my age, 私は23際です!(watashi no ni juu san sai desu! I'm 23 years old, I'll teach you numbers on my future blogs!) , I'm entering my prime of my age, So I need to be the best that I can be while the window of 20s -30s is still open!!

  私の醜い手
(watashi no minikui te, my ugly hand waaaaa, ever since i started doubling my weights  from 10lb to 25lb dumbbells T.T)

Japanese Corner!!:

私の醜い手
 (
watashi no minikui te )
(私 = me/I,  の = my,  醜い = ugly,  手 = hand)

Besides being a gym err home rat, I have revived my passion for studying japanese and ever since removing myself from kanji study and started on vocabularies and grammar (twitter and lang-8 have been a great help), I have been gaining more and more knowledge! In fact I can easily read japanese sentences now, (still have to use dictionary for a lot of words though) but I'm already doing something that most can't (thanks to TWO YEARS of kanji study) and I'm improving daily. I'll post everything I've learned and will learn here bit by bit in the future.

Now for the Otaku stuff, reviews will have to wait because I'm still watching a lot of shows and I'll probably write one after reaching the 400th mark. And I'll also start doing J-drama reviews because I have been watching them more lately (maybe because I can relate more because of my age lol).

Hmmmm, So that's it, the site theme and layout will still be fixed (in the near future) and I'm gonna post more updates about myself for myself after some time. I'm gonna start on my japanese study now (just resting after workout and dinner) and I'm gonna be watching Gurren Lagan and Boss 2 Later! じゃまたね!!(Jyamatane = Later!) See yah imaginary readers LoL.
